Black History Heroes
February is Black History Month, and we encourage GSA and student organizers to plan activities and events to recognize the importance of the Black community's involvement in LGBTQ+ rights.
Throughout this month we will be recognizing a number of Black History heroes who are currently making significant contributions to the LGBTQ+ and safe schools movements. Follow us on social media to learn about each of these amazing individuals.
SHINE Team Winter Intensive
Over the past weekend our SHINE Team members gathered in Tucson for our first ever Winter SHINE Team Intensive training. We have 15 total members, including our first 2 members to be based in Tucson. Our work together began with leadership skill development and various team building activities. Overall, this first of many Winter Intensives was a huge success and we are looking forward to sharing the great work of our SHINE Team this year.
Professional Development Training
This past weekend, we sent several candidates to the National Training of Trainers which will bring GLSEN Arizona's Certified Trainer count to over 10 - the largest group of trainers of any other chapter. For more information about our Intentional Inclusion Professional Development visit our website.
